Bring Back the Music -and the Memories to Go With It
Immersive sound. Engaging visuals. Private sessions designed to spark memory, emotion, and connection - right at home!

Immersive sound. Engaging visuals. Private sessions designed to spark memory, emotion, and connection - right at home!
Private one-to-one sessions. No groups. No facility programming.
Music is played at comfortable, conversational sound levels, never loud unless a guest prefers otherwise. Volume is adjusted thoughtfully throughout the session based on personal preference, room acoustics, seating distance, and time of day, so listening remains enjoyable and easy.
Sessions may be enjoyed one-on-one or shared in small groups and are offered in homes and community spaces throughout Wake Forest, Raleigh, and nearby communities.
Some guests prefer to listen quietly. Others enjoy light conversation about the music or the experience itself. Both approaches are welcome, and the pace is always set by the listener.
Equipment is arranged with care and adjusted to the room to support both attentive listening and easy conversation. The environment is meant to feel welcoming, not technical or intimidating.
Sessions often begin with music you already know and love. The focus is on clarity and balance rather than volume, helping the music feel natural and engaging without being fatiguing.
Golden Ears Audio creates private, immersive listening experiences for independent seniors -- combining high-fidelity sound with thoughtfully selected visual elements to deepen comfort, familiarity, and emotional connection.

The idea began while spending time listening to music with his mother, a former teacher with classical voice training who loves opera and great performances. Those listening sessions became some of their most meaningful moments together -- often with great food and wine :>).
Golden Ears Audio was created to bring that same sense of comfort, memory, and emotional connection to other seniors through private, immersive listening sessions delivered right at home.
She spent her life caring for others as a teacher and had a deep love for music, especially classical and vocal performance. As she grew older, I noticed how much joy returned when we listened to music together on a proper system.

Our business is built around providing guided listening and viewing experiences for senior citizens who may not have the knowledge, streaming services, or equipment to be able to do so. We are not a reseller nor do we provide equipment for rent. Visits are supported by a fully equipped, mobile audio-visual cart.
Golden Ears Audio began as Golden Years Audio, a name chosen to reflect a focus on seniors and the role music plays in quality of life as we age. Music often carries deep emotional meaning, and the goal of the business is to help bring those meaningful listening experiences back into focus.
As the business evolved, the trade name Golden Ears Audio (TM) was adopted to reflect the type of service being provided. “Golden” speaks not only to age, but to quality — a careful, respectful, and refined listening experience. “Ears” emphasizes the listener, not the equipment. Together, the name reflects thoughtful listening, not technical excess.
The logo is built around the golden rule of two-channel listening: the balanced triangle formed by the left speaker, right speaker, and listener. When those three points are in harmony, music sounds natural and immersive. The inverted triangle also echoes the shape of a diamond stylus on a vinyl record, symbolizing accuracy and care.
At the center of the design is the listener. Every experience is built around the person, not the technology. Subtle vinyl-inspired elements reference musical memory and nostalgia, while the gold-on-black palette reflects restraint, warmth, and respect.
Golden Ears Audio is about removing complexity, focusing on comfort and clarity, and helping music feel present, familiar, and meaningful again.
Rather than installation, we can provide professional advice and suggestions on modest systems that can include audio equipment, TV, music and video sources, and assist with setup and cabling - at the same rate. We take pride in helping our customers in their path to having their own listening solutions.
We are open each day from 12pm to 8pm. However, we are available outside of these hours by appointment and may respond to Text/SMS.
Listening sessions are always set at comfortable, conversational sound levels—never loud—unless a guest prefers otherwise.
Volume is adjusted thoughtfully based on the room, distance from the system, time of day, and individual comfort, so the experience remains enjoyable and relaxed throughout.
Initial resources create the need to stack sessions with individual senior independent living facilities in Wake Forest and NE Raleigh. Please contact us if you feel the service could be enjoyed at your senior parents' place and we'll get things started.
Golden Ears has a fully equipped standalone rolling cart with WiFi access point, quality two-channel audio and 32" TV. We can demo streaming services, suggest our ever-growing public playlists, and engage about memories, bands, soloists or the weather!
